THE SCHOOL OF GOVERNMENT AND SOCIETY

The School of Government and Society at the University of Birmingham is one of the leading UK and International centers for politics, international development, and sociology and European studies.

  • Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS) including the Institute of German Studies (IGS)

Each year, over 4,000 students from 150 countries study at the University of Birmingham, enhancing our reputation as a truly international University. In addition to this around 23 per cent of our academic staff are overseas nationals.

FACILITIES

The School of Government and Society is located in the Muirhead Tower, on the Edgbaston campus. A multi-million pound refurbishment of the Muirhead Tower stands proud as an iconio building on the campus. The facilities include a state-of-the-art lecture theatre, classrooms all with the latest technological capabilities. There is a Starbucks on the ground floor and designated study areas for Postgraduate and Doctoral Research students. The building, like the rest of the campus, is wi-fi enabled.

It is centrally located on the campus and only a stone’s throw from the main library, sporting facilities, shops, banks and restaurants.
